January

Event: Spa Feast sometimes called Renewal Festivals
Date: January 25, 2025
Location: Various Spas around town.

Celebrates the town’s historic hot springs and offers visitors a chance to indulge in spa treatments and wellness services. The event features a variety of culinary experiences, including a Farm-to-Table dinner and Taste of Town event, as well as wellness workshops and fitness classes. It is an enjoyable and unique way to experience the many health and wellness opportunities available in the area. It also includes various practitioners and healers across the area.

February

Event: Berkeley Springs International Water (Recommended)
Date: February 20 to 22, 2025

This festival, held annually in February, is an internationally recognized event that attracts water industry professionals and enthusiasts from around the world. The event features a blind-tasting competition where the judges rate the taste, appearance, and aroma of different types of water from different regions of the world. The event also features seminars on water-related topics and a trade show for water industry professionals. This festival highlights the importance of water and its different characteristics and raises awareness about water quality issues.

Event: George Washington’s Bathtub Celebration (Recommended)

Berkeley Springs celebrates its most unique historic site, George Washington’s Bathtub, with a weekend devoted to colonial food specials, dollar sales, and local history.  Generally from Friday to Saturday around George Washington’s birthday, the tiny spa town highlights the country’s only outdoor monument to presidential bathing. The stone tub located in Berkeley Springs State Park is a popular photo opportunity.

April

Event: Annual Uniquely West Virginia Wine and Food Festival

Tasting vintages from state wineries may give the event its name but as usual, the most popular item is ramping both raw and prepared.

Vintages for tasting range from true Italian concord to light white Riesling.  “The winemakers all have a story to tell as you sample their wines,” said Laura Smith, Administrator of Travel Berkeley Springs which produces the event.   Smith considers the chance to taste and buy rare state wines as the major draw for regulars.  “People buy their favorites by the case.”

West Virginia State Parks, in collaboration with West Virginia Cooks, is bringing the 2025 WV State Parks Cellar to Table Dinner Series to select state parks this spring.

Join Chef Damian Heath, Chef Matt Welsch, and the culinary team at Cacapon Resort State Park for an evening of exceptional dining. This exclusive event showcases the finest local flavors in a beautifully curated meal.

The menu includes: *Warm Vichyssoise with black pepper ramp jam, creme fraiche *Mock’s Mixed Greens Salad with chipotle cherry poppyseed dressing, buttermilk croutons, pickled carrots, radish, red onion, crumbled feta *Lot 12 BBQ Spice Brown Sugar Brined Steelhouse Farm Pork Chop with goat cheese and scallion grit cake, honey crisp jalapeno apple sauce,blackberry glaze, broccolini *Cappuccino Creme Brulee.

Meant to celebrate Spring and the return of flowers, fun, and ….fairies! Come join our revels… there will be much to rejoice, now on our third year!. The State Park will be filled with music and other entertainment, and vendors will offer their art and craft wares inspired by the fae. Our shops will have fun things for all ages, and there will be bubbles and fairies everywhere. Wear your wings, or wear your horns, any kind of fairie creature is welcome. (Humans must be accompanied by a fairie!)

Event: Morgan County Master Gardeners 25th Annual Plant Fair

June

Event: Girlfriend Weekend
Date: Usually in Early June 2025
Location: Various locations

Fortunetelling, belly dancing, spa specials, African art, and more are part of the exuberant “Hey, Girlfriend” weekend, “For more than a dozen years we’ve used this event to celebrate Berkeley Springs’ position as the girlie capital of West Virginia,” said Laura Smith, administrator of the sponsoring Travel Berkeley Springs. There are sidewalk and shop sales, art classes, and abundant live music along with great lodging packages making it an irresistible come-with-your-gal-pals getaway.

Event: Morgan County Expo

Event: Berkeley Springs Fall Birding Festival

Event: This festival offers bird enthusiasts the opportunity to explore the rich birding habitats of the region. The festival features guided bird walks, lectures, and workshops on bird identification and conservation. The festival is a celebration of the region’s natural beauty and biodiversity and provides a chance for bird enthusiasts to connect with other like-minded individuals.

October

Event: Berkeley Springs Studio Tour
Date: October 19 to October 20, 2025

This event, held in October, is a self-guided tour of the studios of local artists and artisans. Visitors can explore the creative process of artists working in a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, pottery, and jewelry making. The tour offers a unique opportunity to see the work of talented artists and learn about the creative process. The tour also provides a chance to buy original works of art directly from the artists themselves.

Event: Apple Butter Festival (Recommended)

Annually since 1974, the Apple Butter Festival fills the park and streets of downtown Berkeley Springs on Saturday and Sunday of Columbus Day weekend in October.

The traditional harvest festival is kicked off by a nostalgic hometown parade on Saturday morning followed by two days’ worth of family-friendly games and contests, music, country food, fine arts, and local crafts. The undisputed star of the festival is the spicy apple butter stirred in giant copper kettles in the middle of the square.

With no admission fee and activities for all ages, this is the perfect day or weekend experience for everyone from grandma to the kids.

The festival features demonstrations of the traditional method of making apple butter using copper kettles over an open fire. Visitors can also enjoy live music, local crafts, and food vendors selling apple-themed dishes such as apple fritters, apple cider, and apple pie. The festival also offers activities for children, such as face painting and pony rides. The festival is a celebration of the region’s history and the tradition of preserving fruits through the winter months

Lodging for Apple Butter Festival weekend is always at a premium. Book your rental early if you are interested in attending.

November

Berkeley Springs Festival of Light showcases more than 80 readers, healers, and purveyors of sacred objects in the largest psychic fair and alternative healing expo in the region. This will be the 25th Annual.

Multiple Months Events

March 2025 to August 2025

Event: Yoga in the Park
Date: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m, every Saturday and Sunday
Location: Classes will be held outside at Berkeley Springs State Park (19 US-522, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411. The MAC Ice House Movement Studio will hold in cases of weather. They will do our best to post the night before with a decision to move inside.

April 2025 through Mid-December 2025

Event: Farmers Market (Recommended)
Date: Sundays 10 am till 2 pm. From April through Mid-December

This farmers market, held every Sunday from April to December, offers visitors the opportunity to buy fresh, locally-grown produce and other products from farmers and artisans in the area. The market also features live music, cooking demonstrations, and other activities that promote healthy and sustainable living. The market is an important community gathering place that supports local farmers and artisans and promotes the value of fresh, locally grown food.

July 2025 through August 2025

Event: Concert in the Park (Recommended)
Date: The concert series takes place every Saturday at 5:30 pm in July and August
Location: Berkeley Springs State Park

Concerts as well as community dances with live music have been a central focus of the Morgan Arts Council since the organization’s beginning. The Summer Concert Series was the brainchild of the late Linda Fallon, introduced in 1987 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of MAC.  In the years since, it has become MAC’s best-known program drawing more than 40,000 attendees over the years, many returning year after year.  Music of all genres is included with high-quality performers and recording artists from all over the USA including Grammy nominees and other award winners. The Ice House provides a backup rain location in the summer. During colder months an indoor concert series makes for hot music at the Ice House; performers often are artists brought in to work with youth in the schools.
