Went for a couples massage. A 2 star from me, 4 star from my husband. First, the couples massage is not what we were expecting. They had us on beds in different rooms that connected rather than right next to each other like we expected. My husband enjoyed his massage and and thought his therapist was very professional and good. She asked questions at the beginning and throughout to ensure a good massage and he was overall pleased with his experience. My massage therapist however did not ask such questions (like if I had health issues even [which I do], or where I would like focused or what pressure). The first half of the massage did not overly seem like a massage even. She rubbed my neck a bit. But otherwise just scratched my scalp (scratched, not rubbed) and rubbed lotion on me; but not actually massaging really. She also did something strange with my ears where she pulled on them and it seriously hurt. And hour later and my ears still are sensitive. The massage did get better when she massaged my back (bringing it from a 1 star to 2 star) as it actually seemed like a normal massage at that point. Wish the whole thing would have been more like that..

I booked a seasonal treatment-Winter Solstice Sugar Scrub- having never been to Atasia Spa before…the whole experience was better than I expected. I cannot wait to go again and will be prepared for what and how do things. I was nervous as I was not sure about protocol. My Sugar Scrub was wonderful! My next visit (and I will be back!) I will be more relaxed and savor more and yes, try the Steam-AMAZING! I think I will try a facial or a massage next time. …can’t wait!

“OMG, I will be back.” That’s all I kept thinking during my day at Atasia. Momma always said to never judge a book by it’s cover- remember that! From the outside, Atasia is just another house on the block. Inside tells a different story. WOW. They honestly had me wondering how they fit so much into the space, and how on earth they transformed a regular ol’ house into a luxurious spa setting!

My friends and I were in town for a girl’s weekend, and we had been told Berkeley Springs was the perfect spot. After some quick research, we settled on Atasia. I mean, a full 6-hour spa day for $310? Say what?! I was a little nervous because that seemed *really* cheap and there aren’t a lot of photos online. I soon came to figure out that’s because everyone’s so busy relaxing that you really do forget about your phone and Yelp reviewing! 😉

Side note: I had actually badly cut open my toe the night before our spa day, and they were able to swap my pedicure out for a second massage for a small upcharge. Super accommodating and nice about my clumsiness!

From start to finish, our experience was awesome. The atmosphere was relaxing, there were plenty of dimly lit rooms to rest/wait in while spa music played throughout the building. I honestly almost fell asleep after my facial, I was in that good of a place! They even provided lunch with the day package.

The staff was amazingly friendly, with quite a few of them having been at Atasia for a number of years. I’m already trying to figure out who else I can share this wonderful place with on a weekend getaway.

We have a second house in Berkeley springs in Coolfont . I love to run long on the C and O canal and it’s always a treat to come for a massage and the euculyptus steam room. I’ve been to spas all over Annapolis / DC / Baltimore and this is just as good as any !
